On April 24th, I bought the App C25K and started training that day. As many of you might know, this App trains you to run a 5K in nine weeks. I am trying to complete this by June 5th for the Girls on The Run 5K. My first day of running was not bad and the sun was actually shinning. I started with a 5 minute walk and then had to jog for 60 seconds and walk for 90 seconds after completing the so many sets I was instructed to then walk for 5 minutes.

The second day of training was a little brutal. My boyfriend went with me but we went running around out house which is on a hill. I strongly believe that this is where I got my shin splints from. The pain shocked me on Monday when I went to Zumba and was in a little pain. My friend instructed me to ice them and elevate them but I did not do that. On Tuesday, I ran again inside at Dixon but the pain started again. The pain feels as though my muscles are going to pop out of my leg!!! Ekkk!!

Thus, I took Wednesday off as I had a midterm on Thursday that I really had to study for and it was nice to have a day off. Again I made the mistake of not icing my legs again! On Thursday, I went running which was a new set of interval of 5 minutes of walking and then jogged for 90 seconds and walked for two. I had some pain at the beginning but then it decreased as I progressed.

Friday was my day off from school and I went running which was extremely painful. I then rode on the bike for 15 minutes, did some ab work, and then stretched out. After leaving the rec center, I was in a lot of pain. I did ice my legs finally but the pain is still here and I just want it to go away. I also tapped my legs last night while I was sleeping but that did not work too well. Was thinking about running today but I do not know if I should.....we will see! I would really like to get done with my second week of training though!
